Vista House at Crown Point: Nestled atop a picturesque perch in the Columbia River Gorge, lies Vista House – a true stunner that boasts of the most jaw-dropping views in the region. Known as the “Crown Jewel of the Columbia River Gorge,” Vista House was crafted between 1916 and 1918 as a tribute to Oregon’s brave pioneers and as a haven for travelers on the newly minted Historic Columbia River Highway. With its intricate sandstone masonry, opulent marble, and sparkling amber-green art glass windows, Vista House is a dazzling beauty that will leave you awestruck and inspired!
Latourell Falls: Check out this epic natural masterpiece! A colossal wall of basalt stands guard as stunning Latourell Falls takes the plunge, free-falling 249 feet (76 m) before racing in a blur of white water through the lush forest and finally merging with the Columbia River. The waterfall is hugged by a bunch of picture-perfect columnar basalt formations that are decked out in vivid greenery and a striking patch of yellow lichen. Get up close and personal with the falls by heading down to the punch-bowl pool, where you can immerse yourself in the cool mist and thunderous roar of the cascading water. And did we mention? This spot is one of the most photo-worthy waterfalls in all of Oregon!
Multnomah Falls: Get ready to be swept off your feet by the magic of Multnomah Falls! This majestic 620-foot-tall beauty, fueled by secret underground streams from Larch Mountain, is split into two mind-blowing sections. The first section is a mighty 542-foot plunge into a pool, followed by a jaw-dropping 69-foot drop, forming a babbling creek that flows into the Columbia River. As the second highest year-round waterfall in the US and Oregon’s crowning jewel, it attracts over 2.5 million visitors from every corner of the globe each year. And guess what? That’s not all! At the base of the falls, you’ll discover the iconic Historic Multnomah Falls Lodge, where you can refuel with some scrumptious eats, grab a souvenir from the gift shop, or sip on a hot cup of espresso while soaking up the scenery. Don’t forget to stop by the interpretative center to learn more about the history and ecology of this natural wonder.
