<strong>Itinerary</strong>
Prepare yourself for some of the best sightseeing and touring of Oregon. Enjoying fine dining, shopping, wine tasting or local breweries or visit the Spirit Mountain Casino or Chinook Winds Casino located on the beach with incredible scenic views of the Pacific ocean.
Day 1
We will start our adventure with a tour of Oregon premier wine country or a stop at Evergreen Aviation Museum en route to the Oregon Coast.
<strong>Option #1 Evergreen Aviation Museum: </strong>The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum is an aviation museum which displays a number of military and civilian aircraft and spacecraft, most notably, the Hughes H-4 Hercules “Spruce Goose”.
<strong>Option #2 Oregon Wine Tasting: </strong>On the way, experience wine tasting at some of the area’s best wineries and unique tasting rooms in the Willamette Valley.
<strong>Lincoln City:</strong> After the wine tour, we’ll travel to Lincoln City for a moment to enjoy factory outlet stores, birding, hiking, Chinook Winds Casino then time to relax and a chance to freshen up for the evening dining and entertainment. We have chosen a special place for you to enjoy dinner and spend a little time exploring the beaches along the coast.
Day 2 <strong>Lincoln City- Depot Bay- Newport </strong>
After a hearty breakfast we’ll hit the road at 9:00am. Our second third day takes us through charming towns and offers breathtaking views and lighthouses, sea lion caves, and beaches to explore. Our stops today include:
<strong>Depoe Bay</strong>: Set among towering cliffs, Depoe Bay is the whale-watching capital of Oregon. Gray whales make their home near this rocky refuge 10 months out of the year. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for water spouts and breaching cetaceans.
<strong>Yaquina Head lighthouse: </strong>Take a tour of the past as you ascend the circular staircase up the lighthouse tower. This is one of the most popular lighthouses in the United States, and offers superb wildlife and ocean viewing.
<strong>Newport: </strong>A beautiful little town with incredible views and great shopping. Wildlife is abundant. Watch for coastal sea birds (cormorants, murres, and guillemonts), harbor seals, sea lions, and gray whales. Newport is also home to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and The Wax Works museums.
<strong>Heceta Head:</strong> It’s more than just a lighthouse. It is also a 549 acre park with trails, tide pools, wildlife habitat, and sandy beaches. And with an elevation of over 1,000 feet, it has great viewpoints.
<strong>Sea Lion Caves: </strong>Take an elevator down into the caves and witness a truly unique spectacle under the sea were hundreds of sea lions gather to rest.
Next we will return to Lincoln City for one final night to wander around the beaches, art galleries, Tax Free! shopping at the outlet stores or time to freshen up for dinner.
Day 3 <strong>Lincoln City – Portland </strong>
After a hearty breakfast we’ll hit the road at 9:00am. Our adventure will take us through charming town of Tillamook.
<strong>Tillamook Cheese Factory/Heron Cheese Factory:</strong> This is a great place to pick up gifts for family and friends or taste special reserve cheeses, ice cream and yogurt.
<strong>Tillamook Forrest Learning Center:</strong> We’ll make several stops along the way to enjoy the scenery and learn about the wildlife, plants, native groups that inhabit the area.
Oregon Vineyards: En route back to Portland optional for guest to stop and enjoy one last Oregon Wine Tasting experience.
